Sri Lanka YMCA’s First Regional Scouting Camp for the year 2010 will be held in Batticaloa from 2nd to 4th September 2010. YMCAs in the Eastern and Northern region will participate in this camp. The 2nd Regional Camp is to be held from 8th to 10th October 2010 at Scout Training Centre at Mirigama, close to Colombo. This camp is for YMCAs in Western and Central regions. It is expected that more than 100 scouts / youth will participate in each camp.

YMCA Scouting Attracts Media Attention
YMCA’s recent Scouting Programme has received wide publicity in Sri Lanka Media. “Virakesari”, the influential and largest circulated Tamil Language Daily in Sri Lanka has given good prominence to the programme conducted at Kalmunai, with 2 photographs that were taken during the Certificate Awarding Ceremony. The caption reads as that the first picture shows Eastern Provincial Council Member Al-hajj K.M.A. Razzak, who was the Chief Guest, distributing the certificates and Akkaraipattu & Kalmunai region Scouts Commissioner Mr. M.I.M. Mustafa as speaking during the occasion in the second picture.
A Review on Review Workshop- Scout Review Workshop NCYSL Scout Review Workshop was conducted at Diyagala Boys’ Town on 26th & 27th of November 2010. Battiacaloa, Kalmunai, Kandy, Mandur, Negombo, Pamunugama, Rambukkana, Trincomalee and Thuraineelavani YMCAs participated. Following is an overview of this workshop and Sri Lanka YMCAs Scouting Programme by Mr. Shelton Peiris –
 I had the opportunity to participate at the above workshop to assist in Coordinating. I found it to be helpful to the scouting YMCAs in sharing of experience, understanding each other and planning activities for 2012. All scouting YMCAs, except Kallar (who were engaged in their Troop Camp) attended the workshop; 16 leaders and coordinators. During the presentations the leaders were sincere enough to share their failures as well as successes with other participants. The set backs were mainly due to changes in YMCA staff cadres, lethargy in the part of some YMCA leaders and lack of cooperation from the District level Scout Committees of the S
